Back To The Real World
Man getting back into real life is hard to do. We were really excited to be back with our girls however. Melinda and Michael brought them to the airport to pick us up and then we were up until midnight opening presents. One of the presents was Poi balls. Sommer has picked this right up. Sommer stayed home from school the next day and Mom and Erin came over to visit. Friday night we went for a family date. We saw Over the Hedge. It was okay. Sommer liked it but it didn't really hold Liv's attention. Saturday the yard work began. We bought shrubs galore. Monday we bought flowers galore... and then we planted and planted. Our yard is looking much better now. I finally have lilacs, peonies and even some roses. I brought back a lovely souvenier from Hawaii on my legs. I thought they were bug bites, over 50 I might add. They have been driving me absolutely crazy with itchiness. Carol from the office heard about my plight and let me know that it actually could be a fungus. She got something just like it after shaving her legs and swimming in the ocean. So I'm going to the doctor tomorrow before I scratch all of the skin off my legs. We stopped by the office today to have Carol take a look at my legs. Livy ended up getting her teeth cleaned by the dentist and having a little filling done. It was her first time and she did great. She proceeded to hand out stickers to the patients, instructing them to put the stickers on their bodies, and saying it's ok I work here. She is a goose. We had the missionaries over for dinner. Good times. Then we had some trampoline time. Liv wacked the neighbor girl in the head with a sprinkler and then it was bed time.

The Great Hunter
Sean caught this little crab. If you see a hole in the sand chances are there's a crab in it.
I'm Going To Eat You
...and he did. Erik shoved a handful of sand into his mouth shortly after this picture.
Forever Young
Sean's Dad is just a kid at heart. He was right in there body surfing. He got pretty worked by some of those waves, but pain is how the Freibergs know they've had fun.
The Terror
We tried to get a picture of Erik with 3 Fiji girls, he took one look at them and started bawling.
Tattoos
Don't worry they washed off the next day. These are Mauri stencil tattoos at the Polyneisian(sp?) Cultural Center.
Maternity
Behind us is a carving in the stone called Maternity. It is a mother with her child and from the stone springs water which flows down to four pools. This represents the influence of a mother on the generations that follow her.
Romy's
This is a shrimp hut that got a lot of hype in the tour books so we thought we'd give it a try. The shrimp are alive when the get thrown in the pot and you can see them jumping to try to make their escape. You had to rip their body parts off in order to eat them and stuff came out that no one should see. I thought it was foul, and had to hurry to the car to down a cookie to get the taste out of my mouth. Sean thought it was an adventure.
The Anchor
This is one of two anchors that were attached to the Arizona. It weighs 1900 pounds and was found 200 feet away from the Arizona. When the bomb hit it ripped it right off.
The Arizona Memorial
You have to take a boat to get to the memorial which was built directly over top of the sunken ship. This picture was taken from the fairy.
The Names
This is on the Arizona Memorial and behind me through the triangle you can see the list of names of the men who died. There was 1177. Over 900 of those are still in the Arizona.
