Get Ready for some Pictures

The summer is winding down and I can hardly believe it. I guess it follows the pattern of how the good things fly by and the bad ones drag on and on. Or how the bad things make you fat and the good ones don't taste good. I don't know. We took a bijillion pictures so there are some slide show to see. If you double click on the pictures you can make it bigger. We had a really great first summer at the lake house. We still feel shocked and incredibly blessed that we own it. We went for the first two weeks of July and the first two of August. In July my parents and Erin and Melinda and their kids came for a visit. In August, Amy and Brad and their kids and the Pearsons each came for a few days. Sean's brother Jamie and his wife Annamarie were also there for most of the time we were in August. It was really fun to have so many visitors. I said to Sean that we need to stay down there the whole summer next year just so we can invite all the people we want to come. Well our time there was spent playing in the water of course, tubing, skiing, and thanks to Sean's cousin, riding on waverunners and jetskiis. Sean and Sommer went for an hour and a half horse back ride. It was Sommer's first time and she was on a big horse. It was kind of scary for her and so she didn't have that much fun but she was glad she went. Olivia got to go for a 20 minute ride and I think she could have handled a longer one just fine. She touched every horse she could get her hands on. She loves creatures in general, including bugs she is always trying to catch them and save them. Erik on the other hand likes to break them. "oops I broke it" Erik slept in a toddler bed for the first time. About 4 times we woke up in the morning to find him sleeping somewhere random on the floor, or the ottoman. The children loved riding on the 3 man tube. They got more and more daring as the time went on. At the end they were standing up and throwing their legs off the back. (the learned this from the Pearson boys) I thought I would try it too and the next thing I knew Erik was throwing his legs off the back. I about had a heart attack and that ended that. We had a nest of baby robbins on our back deck and got to watch them grow up and then learn to fly. It really was an idyllic time with our little family. We were sad to say good bye, untill next summer. Actually we plan to go there for Christmas and skate on the lake. We made it home for Sunday and were really glad to attend a special stake conference with Elder Holland. He gave a really excellent talk and I even got to shake his hand. As for now we are getting back into a regular sleep schedule, still trying to unpack and need to loose the weight I gained over the summer. Why can't I be one of those naturally skinny people. Oh well, can't have it all.... I definitely have plenty.

School Year Ends

Here is Olivia at her final celebration of learning in Kindergarten. Her teacher was Mrs. Osadec. Olivia really liked her. Here is Sommer with her teacher Mrs. Jensen who she had for grade 3 and 4. She is very sad to say goodbye to her and to the school. Also Sommer with one of her best friends since babyhood, Amy.
